Petiton to make necessary repairs to reinstall washing machine to building 1354 Third St.

In November 2014, the washing machine on the second floor of 1354 3rd Street broke down. The washing machine was removed and it was determined the primary problem was with the drain, which needed replacement. It has been the responsibility of Ballena Village to replace the drain in order to install a replacement machine. As of July 2015, the drain has still not been replaced and consequently there has been only one washing machine instead of two.

This is a inconvenience for all residents using the washroom. It reduces access to washing area by 1/2 and requires residents on many occasions to rely on the central wash area in the Community Building. When first touring the building we were shown the washroom with 2 machines. Our decision to lease an apartment in this building and agree to the lease payments was in part, due to the easy access to washing facilities. Ballena Village and Sequoia Equities has failed maintain utilities in building 354 the residents rely upon. We request they immediately replace the drain and consequently restore the washing machine.
