The Privilege to Wear Hats in School

I think students (and faculty!) should be allowed to wear a hat for expression. I understand that some hats can say profane, vulgar words, but those wouldn't be allowed. Also, imagine that a student wakes up with a giant sticky blob of gum in their hair, the student would typically be absent for staying home, but a hat would make it covered until they can get it cut. Bad hair cut? Boom,hat. Cold outside(and even inside) Hat. Hat days aren't enough, and they can sometimes cost $1+.
