SEC To Announce Rules for The Extractions Industries (Oil, Gas, Mining) on August 22, 2012

The SEC is supposed to announce the rules on August 22, 2012.  Watch for them and be prepared to submit public comments to ensure that oil companies and others will actually be required to fully disclose in a transparent way.


The July 2010 Financial Reform Bill included provisions for disclosure and transparency on the extractions industry (oil, gas and mining) regarding activities in developing nations.  Such requirements were actively supported by the World Alliance of Reformed Churches.
