Please sign this petition to limit the hours during which Animal Planet can air their graphic and disturbing animal rights ads. They really upset my small kids. I would love to be able to watch The Dog Whisperer or Cats 101 with my kids, but those ads make them really upset so I don't chance it anymore.
Please sign so that we can try to convince Animal Planet to limit the playtime for these ads to night time when only the adults (You know, the people who actually have the money to make a donation) can see them.

Dear Animal Planet,
I care about animals. I'm an avid supporter of animal rights groups. I adopt my pets from shelters. But I also have small children. Children who have pets. I like to watch animal programming with my children so that I can share my love of animals and teach them to love and respect animals as well.
So what's the problem? Here it is. I am unable to watch any of Animal Planets great shows with my small kids unless I have pre-recorded them and remove the many animal rights ads that are continuously played on your network.
Because I have done such a great job teaching my kids that "animals are people too" they get VERY upset and cry when these ads come on the tv. I have four daughters under 10 years old. This is not funny. This is not educational. This is traumatic.
Animal Planet, PLEASE limit the airtime for these ads! If at all possible please only play them after 8pm on weekdays and after 10 on weekends. Or maybe make a more PG version for my little girls who LOVE puppies and kittens and don't know why all of these cute animals on television are crying, dirty and hungry. One of the lines is "Will I die today?" and shows a little wet and dirty kitten. These are terrible images for little girls to see. They are completely unable to help these animals and it is very upsetting for them and for their parents!
Why do I have to explain to a 3 year old how people are evil and starve and beat their puppies? They have time to learn about the evils of mankind later... I'm not prepared to ruin their innocence because Sarah McLachlin told me to.
Please make some changes Animal Planet!
