Ban The Rising Sun Flag

The Rising Sun Flag is a Japanese flag. As its name suggests, it is a white flag with a red sun. The flag has its origins during the Shogunate era. Today it is very controversial. The following paragraphs will explain why

Many countries (chiefly China and South Korea) view the Rising Sun flag as a symbol of terror and oppression. It was used by the Japanese during WWII as their battle flag. The Japanese committed horrible atrocities worse than the Germans towards people they conquered. The people who suffered the most were the prisoners of war.

My grandfather was a POW in the Philippines during the war. He went through a lot of suffering. I am sure our surviving veterans who experienced this would not want to see a Rising Sun flag anywhere. I think it should be banned. We have banned the Confederate Flag and Germany has already banned the Nazi symbolism. Why can't Japan or any other country ban the Rising Sun Flag?
