Ask Brisbane Police to Investigate Dog Being Walked Outside a Car!

As you may be aware, viral photo shared over 3,000 times on social media shows a Brisbane driver holding his or her dog's leash while the dog walks outside the car during peak traffic hours in a school zone. This is not a staged photo, but a picture taken by a witness in hopes of shaming the dog's owner. The photo was taken when the car came to a stop, and the witness describes the driver continuing around the corner with the dog jogging alongside the car.

This is a clear example of animal abuse, not to mention a road hazard. No matter how careful the driver was, the dog could have been hit by another motorist. Though on a leash, the dog was in the middle of traffic and could distract other drivers, causing an accident. Considering the presence of school children in the vicinity, the driver's poor judgement could have caused a terrible tragedy for both the pet and humans.

Police need to analyze the viral photo and use clues such as plate number, location and car model to identify the careless driver. We respectfully urge you to investigate the matter as soon as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
