Authorities in Southern California rescued 405 cats, and seized the remains of 119 cremated animals, 28 cat corpses kept in a freezer, and the bodies of two cats that had been buried in a backyard. This was all associated with one woman who ran a purebred cat rescue, a cat hotel and spa, and a separate cat lounge.

Nearby businesses had been complaining about the horrendous smells emanating from this woman's establishments, saying they'd lost customers due to the smells of pee, ammonia, and other chemicals. When police arrived, they weren't sure what they would find - the shocking extent of this woman's animal neglect and abuse ultimately led them to multiple locations.

Authorities end up going to three different properties to find and retrieve the animals. The raid lasted for around 8 hours.

At the woman's house, officials in Upland, California rescued four cats and nine dogs. In her personal backyard, they not only found the complete remains of two cats, but also the bones of an uncounted number of other animals. So far, it's unclear how many animals she had buried.

Of the 405 cats who were lucky enough to still be alive, many were malnourished or sick.

It's not clear yet if this woman's three organizations have been shut down, or if she will be banned from being near animals. But it's clear something must be done to protect the larger community.

Sign the petition to demand that authorities shut down this woman's organizations, and ban her from ever working with, owning, or living with animals again in the future!
