Lolita is a Southern Resident Killer Whale who was brutally captured 43 years ago from Washington. The Noaa is reviewing a peition to add her to the same endangered species act her family is now on. It is crucial that we take every action to help ensure Lolita's release into the wild and her protection under the endangered species act.

There is nothing to be lost by giving “Lolita” the same chance at life, freedom and protection that her family was given but yet there is everything to gain. It is a chance to show not only that “hands” of freedom are strong…but…the hands of faith are stronger. Lolita represents change and our desire as a country to make a difference not only outside our borders but within them. "We the people..." have the power to ignite change!Protect Lolita and Bring Her Home!

We the People of the United States of America, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.....



The Constitution of the United States of America was and is the voice of the people. We are the gathered masses that huddle at the gates of freedom; peering through the iron bars of injustice. We have spoken against heinous crimes and have waged war against the exploitive industry that assaults and destroys the world in which we live. Such industry denies “ourselves and our posterity” the ability to embrace the natural beauty of our oceans because as it vanishes beneath the “circus tent” of big business.



The blessings of Liberty that our forefathers spoke of live within our right and our ability to stand up for our nation and our freedoms…and we stand tall. Freedom exists not just within words but within our ability to truly embrace it. We are the voices of millions who believe that freedom in our Nation exists within every corner, under every stone, beneath every wave. To those of us who spend our lives shackled to responsibility and reason to see true freedom in its rawest form is the most indescribable of things.



So that they may turn a profit, organizations like Miami Seaquarium pillage our oceans and the delicate lives that swim beneath our Nations waters. Through premeditated and highly calculated destruction their methods of capture bring forth hell on Earth; washing the blood from their hands within the same waters that drown out the horrifying cries of loved ones left behind.



The brutal capture of uninjured wild orca juveniles and calves from US waters was so horrific that outrage poured throughout the Nation demanding and resulting in the demise of any further captures. However within the waters of Washington state, home of the endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales, a young Orca now known to the world as “Lolita”, with a permit, was taken and sold to the Miami Seaquarium. She has spent over forty years of her life there. If we, the people of this country, apply for a permit can we get her back



To “Establish Justice” is more than just the preamble to the constitution of the United States it represents everything that we as a country stand for and believe. It is this nation, our nation, that comes to the aid of those who are without a voice of their own. For years "the people" of this nation have spoken out against atrocities displayed by Miami Seaquarium. By the millions we have battled and yet we still sit in waiting hoping that the silence of the years does not drown out that ever elusive call to freedom as Lolita too sits and waits. Though the voices of the people have echoed through city halls, congress and other houses of justice no justice has been found.



The “general welfare” of the people who are a part of this nation does not rest behind crusted concrete walls filled with putrid water fit for housing nothing more than waste. It rests within the realization that everything that our country was founded upon still stands strong today. It is the knowledge that if we unite, our voices can and will be heard. We teach our children to stand for what is right, that in our country we do not take injustice lightly. What message do we send them when power is taken from the people and money feeds the mouths of the unjust.



There have been many arguments against the addition of “Lolita” to the same endangered species list her family is on and her return to the wild. For a marine park to declare that the return of a wild caught orca to the wild is dangerous and "puts the animal’s life at risk" is nothing more than absurd. Scientific evidence proves otherwise. The question arises if that is in fact true then why have there been endless deaths in captivity including Miami Seaquarium (i.e. Hugo) and why was the same concern for their well- being not exercised before, during or after their capture? Their protest is unfounded for there is more evidence, both scientific and legal, that suggests that by all rights Seaquariums such as Miami Seaquarium are “death traps” for humans and cetaceans alike. There are unpaid experts by the hundreds who believe in the reintroduction of “Lolita” to the Washington waters her and her family call home. One has to ask where the motivation of her continued confinement lies
