They Found 11 Starving Dogs Locked Away. Demand Justice.

Eleven dogs were found locked up at a home in Warren Township, Ohio, so malnourished that their ribs showed through their skin. Six were adults and five were puppies. They had no food or water, and they were surrounded by urine and feces. Rescuers pulled every one of them out and rushed them to a veterinarian.

Sign the petition urging the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office to pursue a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory mental health counseling in this case.

The man now facing 22 animal abuse charges is no stranger to the justice system. Years ago, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy in a dog fighting case and was sentenced to just 30 days in jail and two years of probation. That sentence did not keep animals safe from him. Authorities have not charged him with dog fighting in this case, but the pattern is hard to ignore. Once again, dogs ended up suffering in his care.

Someone who lets 11 dogs, including five puppies, waste away in their own filth clearly isn't in a healthy place, and a short sentence alone has already proven it won't fix the problem. A lifetime ban on animal ownership would make sure no other dog ever has to depend on him. Mandatory mental health counseling would give him a real chance to address what led to this, so the cycle can finally end.

Sign the petition and demand the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office pursue a lifetime ban and mandatory counseling in this case.
