Support Humane Treatment of Animals and the Rights of In-Home Businesses

The North Logan City Council and Planning Commission are considering an ordinance that would prohibit in-home animal kenneling, and move all kennels to the Manufacturing zone. We believe first and foremost that this infringes on the rights of property owners to use their land as desired so long as it adheres to local law. We believe that through the use of Conditional Use Permits with set conditions (particularly regarding safety, noise control, smell/cleanliness, and humane treatment of animals) we can satisfy the rights of both property owners and neighboring residents.
