Sign Petition in Support of Healthy Checkout

We, the undersigned, call on the Mayor and Berkeley City Council to join us in our efforts to set a minimum nutritional standard for products sold in store checkout lanes.

We must consider that families and children of Berkeley frequent stores where they are targeted with cheap, ready to eat products high in fat, sugar, salt, and calories that contribute to diseases and major health disparities including dental cavities, increased heart disease, and diabetes.

Our community can increase positive health outcomes and protect our youth by setting nutritional standards for items sold at checkout.
