Police Brutalty Must Stop

Police Brutality is an ongoing problem that has been the cause of innocent people getting injured or even killed due to the use of excessive force. Current Police Officers and training to be police officers should have new training in which new strategies and techniques are used in order to avoid police brutality. There have been many barriers to keeping police brutality to stop happening and one of them is the techniques they are using are causing innocent deaths. Police officers have been given a lethal weapon to use for self-defense, either to keep an officer or a civilian in danger safe. But even when circumstances are minimal cops usually turn to lethal weapons as their first response. Cops switching to taser weapons would decrease the chances of an innocent life being taken and may even decrease police brutality as a taser is less likely to kill anyone, unlike a lethal weapon. Another way to help decrease police brutality would be a technique of using body cameras at all times in order to record and have evidence to back up and hidden detail regarding police brutality. Studies show that people act differently when they acknowledge someone is watching over them which in this case it would be the body cameras acting as a reminder to every police officer that if they take their power as an advantage there will be consequences. By making a new law that gets better up to date training police brutality will decrease.
