Children need more avenues for socialization!

We have so many families moving to our state and with these families come children. What's one of the biggest problems in the U.S.? Child obesity! To be frank, I'm a kid myself, and all I want is to bike or just hang out with my friends. However, our neighborhoods are designed for cars, and I don't even have sidewalks near me. How are we expected to go outside when we can't walk or go anywhere without our parents? Overall, adding sidewalks and mom and pop stores to our suburbs would motivate kids and adults alike to get out and socialize more often. Thank you.
