SHADOW'S LAW: End viewing animals as SHARED PROPERTY in NY STATE

According to NY state law, a pet is considered property. If you reside and are in a relationship with someone who doesn't like animals, they automatically become shared property owners and can do what they want with your precious fur babies.

This petition is on behalf of Shadow, a sickly dog who was taken and dumped in the middle of NYC by an ex boyfriend of his owner , and who is fighting for his life in the hospital.
Police told us an arrest couldn't be made because her boyfriend had rights as shared property owner and could do what he wanted with him. We had to prove he was abandoned, despite the statement he made to police admitting guilt.

This petition demands that pet owners are solely those who show registered credentials, vet bills, and are not simply granted ownership based on shared residency.
