Don't Let Intoxicated People Gamble.

We, the undersigned, respectfully submit this petition urging the Nevada Legislature to enact legislation that prohibits all gambling establishments within the state from accepting bets from individuals who are visibly intoxicated.

Nevada, renowned worldwide for its vibrant entertainment and hospitality industry, particularly its casinos and gambling establishments, attracts millions of visitors annually. While gambling can be a form of leisure and entertainment for many, the negative consequences associated with excessive gambling, especially when coupled with alcohol and narcotic consumption, are well-documented.

Allowing intoxicated individuals to place bets in gambling establishments poses several risks and dangers, both to the individual and to society at large. Intoxicated gambling can lead to reckless behavior, impaired judgment, financial ruin, and even harm to others. Moreover, it can exacerbate existing issues such as addiction and mental health problems, further compounding the individual's difficulties.

By prohibiting gambling establishments from accepting bets from intoxicated individuals, we can promote responsible gambling practices and mitigate the adverse effects of excessive gambling. This measure aligns with the state's commitment to fostering a safe and responsible gambling environment, protecting consumers, and upholding the integrity of the gaming industry.

Furthermore, implementing such a policy would demonstrate Nevada's dedication to promoting public health and safety, as well as its willingness to address the societal challenges associated with problem gambling and alcohol and drug abuse.

We urge the Nevada Legislature to give due consideration to this petition and take decisive action to enact legislation that prohibits gambling establishments from accepting bets from intoxicated individuals. By doing so, we can create a safer and more responsible gambling environment for all residents and visitors of the Silver State.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
