Demand the Australian government allows freedom of the press

Wikileaks alleges that the Australian government has gagged the media from exposing details of a major Supreme Court case involving the bribery of government officials.

News outlets across Australia have been prohibited to report the allegations or even name the people involved in the case.

The order of the Supreme Court of Victoria prevents the contents of the case, or the injunction itself, from being reported in Australia, though it has been widely reported in the region.

The order suggests the Australian government could be prohibiting the release of information to the public on a regular basis.

Australia is a democracy and its citizens have the right to know if the government they elected is corrupt – and any Australian investigation should be open and transparent.

Please sign and share the petition to demand the Australian government allows freedom of the press.
