Free anti-Putin protesters!

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina have small children at home that they can't see. Why? Because they're sitting in a Russian jail awaiting trial. And their crime? Criticizing their government, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in particular, in a public place.

Tolokonnikova and Alekhina are members of an punk rock feminist collective called Pussy Riot that frequently stages peaceful, albeit political, street theater. In late February, five Pussy Riot members ascended the altar of a popular Moscow church (heavily attended by powerful politicians) and chanted the words to "Punk Prayer." Charged with "hooliganism," the two singer/activists have little hope of seeing their friends and families before their trial in April. Tell Russia to free the two imprisoned Pussy Riot members and support free speech!
We the undersigned demand the release and acquittal of two members of Pussy Riot currently detained in a Russian jail and awaiting trial. Any government worth its salt should be able to sustain criticism, even spontaneous public criticism. The Pussy Riot collective is, effectively a peaceful, activist group that only wants to express its dissension from current political policies. Please fee these activists and drop all charges against them.
