This petition is being signed to address the issue of placement for children under the age of eighteen (18) into protective care. There are not enough beds in the facilities that are available. What the government doesn't seem to understand is that these children with no professional place to be redirected and properly diagnosed are a danger to themselves and others. Having dealt with this issue on a personal basis for over a year now it is like hitting your head against a brick wall. Worse than that, is the fact that this child (14) is now a danger to herself and others. Unfortunately although she has 6 counselors, a special school, medication, family support and many other well meaning resources she is esculating into a place no one can reach. My fear is many will suffer from her mental illness in the end. Another lost soul in the newspaper who has taken their own life or those of others.
It's a sad day when so many are involved in (saving) these children but are blocked by not having the proper facilities to keep them and outsiders safe from emminate danger.
Please help us save the children before it's too late...once again.
