Tell Bryan Fischer Gay Adoptions Are Not "Sexual Abuse"

Just when you thought GOP homophobia could not get any more hateful, conservative commentator Bryan Fischer claims that "allowing gay adoption is a form of sexual abuse."

Fischer's assertion flies not only in the face of logic, but also thirty years of research that shows children adopted by gay couples are just as happy and well adjusted as any other adopted kids.

Fischer's ugly claim is particularly hurtful to the ten percent of children in public foster care who do not get adopted and eventually leave the system at the age of 18 with no family support system. These children are left to spend an entire childhood in an uncaring system that offers no support beyond the legal age of emancipation.

While we have any parentless children, it is outrageously immoral to deny adoption rights to any stable, loving couple who can demonstrate their emotional and financial ability to adopt a child! Tell Bryan Fischer he's absolutely wrong about gay adoption!

We the undersigned deplore your irrational claim that gay adoption is sexual abuse. Gay couples can and do make wonderful parents. At a time when ten percent of children--especially African American children and disabled childred--do NOT get adopted, it's downright unethical to propose that any emotionally and financially stable couple should not have the right to adopt!
