Stop South Dakota From Letting Hunters Chase Mountain Lions With Dogs

Mountain lions are among North America's most vulnerable species, yet South Dakota has just expanded one of the cruelest hunting practices: chasing these wild cats with dogs. The state's Game, Fish and Parks Commission has approved more land where hounds can be unleashed to pursue terrified mountain lions until they collapse from exhaustion or climb a tree, only to be shot at close range.

Sign the petition to demand South Dakota immediately end this inhumane hunting practice!

This expansion doesn't just sanction cruelty, it devastates fragile ecosystems. Mountain lions already face shrinking habitats, slow reproduction rates, and human encroachment.

The kill limits are now 60 mountain lions or 40 females. Each death can mean orphaned cubs slowly starving to death. Mountain lions are vital apex predators, keeping ecosystems balanced and prey populations in check. Allowing them to be chased and gunned down is not "sport." It is cruelty, plain and simple.

Sign now to demand South Dakota reverse this reckless expansion of mountain lion hunts with dogs.
