Accessible and Accommodating Dorm rooms for Students with Disabilities

As of now dorm rooms at Montclair State University only have minimal options for housing in regards to students with disabilities. Few dorm rooms are accessible for students in wheelchairs and there are minimal options or accommodations made for other disabilities. We are creating this petition to show resident life the importance that having accommodations for all disabilities is for the students at Montclair State University while living at college and how being inclusive should be the upmost priority while making plans for the new dorm rooms. Some accommodations that we want to be made are: larger doorways, automatic doors, headphones for students, visual doorbells, option for furniture removal to gain more accessible and inclusive furniture, better lighting, inclusive common rooms, larger hallways, larger room sizes, larger bathrooms, etc.
