My name is Kelly Parker. My family just bought a house on the outskirts of Smithfield and we unexpectedly learned that our only internet choices for this area are Viasat and HughesNet. We are used to having Charter which is reliable and much less expensive! As small- business owners, having reliable internet is a must!
I am on a one-woman crusade to see if people are interested in bringing Charter to the area. After making numerous calls, and visiting the nearest Charter/Spectrum office, I was told that if I could gather enough homes interested in considering Charter (especially home based businesses!!), it might push them into moving deeper into the outskirts of Smithfield. Right now, the closest node is at the corner of Main St. (258) and Foresquare Rd.
In no way is this a promise of them coming out. I am not affiliated with Charter, selling anything, or asking for money. I will be living in the community and very much want to have a choice in lower cost, high speed internet.
