Make Murder/Abuse of All Animals Illegal

When you read the title, I'm sure you were thinking 'that will never happen'. I am very aware there is little to no chance this ever will be illegal but its a big dream of mine.. that the murder or abuse of animals whether it be for food, clothing, entertainment or experiments be illegal. An animal is someone, not something. If you kill someone, its murder and you go to prison. Why aren't people being locked up for killing and exploiting animals? Who agrees?
