Please reconsider the plan to relocate the campus cats!

There is a plan to "relocate" the feral cats living on the Texas Tech University campus.  This is a bad idea for several reasons.  First, it won't work.  New cats (not neutered and vaccinated like the current residents) will come in to replace them.  Second, if new cats don't come in, rodents will proliferate.  Third, the cats are very unlikely to stay wherever they are "relocated" and will either return or not survive.  Angelo State Unversity, Texas A&M University, The University of Texas, Stanford University, and Disneyland all have managed feral cat colonies with whom the human residents co-exist successfully.  If they can do it, so can Texas Tech.  This is even more true in light of the fact that there is already a student organization caring for the cats.
