RCSD Budget Gap Concerns

Superintendent Joe Phelan and the Board of Education for RCSD are considering instructional cuts to meet a ~$500k budget gap.

Cutting teachers' salaries and hours will invariably undermine morale and lead to talented teachers leaving our local schools for better paying jobs and a more supportive environment.

We, the parents of RCSD students, request administrative cuts in lieu of instructional cuts wherever possible. We're concerned that the current superintendent and BOE stand on the brink of diminishing the reputation Rhinebeck has as a well-performing district with an excellent education, and top-notch teachers.
