End Chaining/Tethering of Dogs in High Point

Both Guilford County and Davidson County have outlawed the chaining of dogs. If you live in High Point, you might think that applies to you, as well. Unfortunately, it does not. High Point has it's own Animal Control department, staffed by High Point Police. Therefore, High Point City Council needs to draft a specific, city ordinance outlawing this abusive practice before the officers can enforce it. Please add your name and address below to show High Point's City Council you care about this issue and want to see dogs freed from their chains.

There will be a committee meeting on June 9 to continue the discussion on tethering of dogs in High Point. That is progress! I plan on attending to answer questions and observe. I'll report back!
