Demand Supermarkets Not To Sell Slave-Labour Seafood From

Thailand not only has been found to use forced-labour (slave labour) in its seafood industry but, to make matters worse, it is the only country that voted against the international forced labour protocol. Tell Walmart and Costco not to sell slave-labour seafood from Thailand.

An investigation by the Guardian has found that Thailand-based Charoen Pokphand (CP) Foods buys fishmeal (which is used to feed farmed prawns) from some suppliers who source -- or even own and operate -- fishing boats that use slave labour. Men who had escaped from the boats say they were forced to work 20-hour shifts, subjected to beatings and torture and witnessed the murder of other workers.

Walmart, Costco, Tesco, Aldi, Morrisons and other companies have all been found to source shrimp from CP Foods.

I aim to petition US and UK supermarkets to pressure their Thai seafood suppliers to stop this illegal and barbaric practice and to not stock seafood from Thailand until this matter has been rectified.
