Hot Tech Today, Take Down Your Sexist Website

Hot Tech Today is a website that's so offensive you'd think it has to be a joke. The site describes itself as a tech blog that "meets Maxim magazine" with its self-proclaimed "innovative" combination of the "hottest" technology news with "sexy" photos of women. The site also solicits photo submissions from "wannabee hotties."

For all the gains that women have made in society, it is still the case that reports of women encountering sexist attitudes and outright harassment in the tech industry are commonplace. That's why we're demanding that the editors of Hot Tech Today take down the site and, if they truly want to create a digital magazine that's "all new, all different, all innovation," start all over.

It would be an understatement to say that Hot Tech Today is a sexist, misogynistic, tasteless site that seems to be operating in a previous century. It is the furthest thing from innovative. The very existence of Hot Tech Today is a huge affront to any and all of the many women who work in tech and to our male co-workers as well.

Tell Hot Tech Today that its sexist content is not even last year's news, or that of the year before, or the one before. If the editors really want to create a digital magazine that is cutting edge, they must take down this repulsive site and create one that fights against misogyny in the tech workplace, rather than promoting it.
