Florida Mayor Offered Woman Speed Bumps for Sex

In January, Catherine Padilla of Lantana, Fla., filed a complaint with the Florida Commission on Ethics, alleging that the Mayor David Stewart said he would make sure speed bumps she requested were put in her neighborhood — if she would have sex with him.

Please sign this petition demanding that Stewart resign for this abuse of power.

According to Padilla, this wasn't the first time the mayor had propositioned her for sex. Three years ago, he brought her to a motel and told her he wanted to have sex with her. She said "no" and did not get out of the car.

After the ethics commission notified Stewart about Padilla's complaint, as is standard protocol, he went to her home to discuss the complaint. She did not let him in.

David Stewart repeatedly crossed the line, using his position of power to sexually harass Catherine Padilla. This is absolutely unacceptable, inappropriate behavior that must end. Sign now and demand that David Stewart resign as mayor of Lantana, Florida.
