Physical Education as a School Requirement in the State of Oklahoma

Obesity affects approximately 36.5 percent of the U.S. population (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2016), and the effects may be detrimental to the physical and mental health of growing youth, with issues related to cardiovascular health and type 2 diabetes seen in younger adults today. One aspect of health lies in the physical education of children and this has sadly been overlooked in the current curriculum of many OK schools. Please join in and sign the petition to make a difference in the lives of all families in the State of Oklahoma. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2016). Obesity is common, serious and costly. Retrieved from https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html
