Save the Great White Shark

With only a few hundred of these ancient animals left, great white sharks off the coast of California need your help to win protections before they vanish from our shores.

Although Hollywood movies like Jaws would have you believe the great white shark is a man-eating predator, people are 15 times more likely to be killed by a coconut than a shark. These ocean hunters play a unique and vital role as the top dogs in their ecosystem.

We humans pose a much greater threat to the great white than they do to us. Fisheries that kill baby sharks as bycatch before they can mature, coupled with climate change and ocean pollution, are wiping out the small population of California great whites left.
