Governor DeWine: Pardon Tyrone Noling!

Tyrone Noling has spent 30+ years on Ohio's death row for a double homicide he did not commit. He was sentenced to death in 1996 and has always maintained his innocence. There is no physical evidence tying him to the crime. The case against him rested almost entirely on the testimony of three co-defendants, who later said their statements were coerced. Without those statements, the State's case was virtually empty.

On August 25, 2026, the Ohio Parole Board recommended clemency with parole eligibility for Tyrone. It is a remarkable step, but it does not grant the freedom Tyrone is ultimately seeking. Only Governor Mike DeWine has the power to pardon Tyrone.
