I received an email from AnimalVictory.org about a petition regarding a pig farm in Indiana with abysmal animal welfare. I signed the petition and searched to research for this Care2 petition...
Anyhow, a video made at this farm shows piglets slowly dying in crates whilst their distraught and helpless mothers look on. This filthy, horrendous farm supplies JBS USA, the USA's second-largest pig slaughterer.
Pigs are sentient beings with feelings, yet the owner and staff at this farm showed complete disregard for them. Faeces and maggots were teeming as piglets tried to stay afloat in the manure. Pigs also had open wounds and disfigured limbs and had urine, faeces and maggots around them.
If not rescued, these pigs , these sentient, feeling beings who are more intelligent than dogs and are as intelligent, if not more intelligent than a three-year old child, will die in agony from illness, injury and/or infection, or be sent to slaughterhouses, where they will be put through a gas chamber, possibly hung upside down and have their throats slit. All of this horrible suffering and cruelty, just for a profit and a few minutes of enjoyment by humans. You can eat very healthily and enjoy your food as a vegan ...
