Grandparent's Visitation Rights

Why do Grandparents not have the same rights as Parents? Grandparents play a vital role in the lives of our Children.
I am writing on behalf of Michael and Judie Smart of Connecticut. Judie's son, Craig, passed away on July 28, 1999 from injuries sustained in a car accident. He has a son named Trent Blaszko-Smart. Since Craig passed away, the Mother of the child refuses to let the Paternal Grandparents have any visitation. They have not seen their Grandson in years. There needs to be some Grandparent's Rights put in place. Not only are the Grandparents dealing with the loss of a son. They now deal with a loss of another kind. This is total travesty!! Grandparents play a vital role in the lives of our children!! Please help the Smarts send a message to our Government. Not only for them, but for ALL Grandparents!!
