A&E: Cancel Generation KKK - Don't Normalize Racist Hate

Generation KKK is a reality television show that focuses on the families of leaders in the Ku Klux Klan, our country's foremost hate group.

Despite claims that the show's only agenda is "that we really do stand against hate,” the truth is that giving these families the reality TV treatment will normalize them.

Whether it's Hoarders, Duck Dynasty or Intervention, showing "real" humans on television allows viewers to empathize and identify with those the shows focus on.

It is NOT in our nation's interest to normalize and identify with those who advocate white supremacy and racist agendas.

Cloaking racist internet trolls under the moniker of "Alt Right" or showing their leaders in glossy photo shoots is only helping their efforts to recruit new members and mainstream their backwards, hateful views.

The KKK is on the rise. The Southern Poverty Law Center estimates that the number of independent Klan groups has more than doubled in the past two years, growing from 72 to 190. The last thing their racist hate needs is mainstream attention.

A&E must cancel this program immediately.

Do not give hateful racists a platform to share their views and gain sympathy from mainstream America.

Cancel "Generation KKK" immediately.
