How has the Economy Affected Older Americans in Your Life?

The economic recession has impacted all of our lives in one way or another. It has been especially harsh on older Americans, whose retirement and health care options may be at stake.

There is help however. For example, the AARP Money Management Program provides trained volunteers to help clients with the money management and Medicare prescription drug coverage assistance they need for daily living.

How have the older Americans in your life been coping? Have retirement plans been ruined? Was health insurance dropped? What (if anything) are they able to do to manage?
As many as 2.5 million people age 65 and older may need some level of assistance with money management. By sharing your story, you can help others who are facing similar situations during this economic crisis. It will also help demonstrate the crucial need for programs and services aimed at helping older Americans manage their financial lives. Note: Your story may be shared with AARP Foundation.
