Fight ageism. Tell Toronto City Councillor Shelley Carroll to apologize for disrespecting seniors

Listen: At 2:40: Shelley Carroll insults seniors Shelley Carroll, City Councillor for Don Valley North, spoke on CBC Radio's Metro Morning on July 17, a day after a woman was struck and killed by a garbage truck. In explaining the urgency she felt about reducing the number of pedestrian deaths, she said explicitly that younger people's lives are more valuable to her than older people's lives. This is what she said:

"In that moment, I pictured myself. That woman was sixty years old...We're not talking about, you know, someone tottering along in their nineties…it could have been me...and so I imagined her life must be as full as mine and this must be as devastating."
