Tell Your Representative: Reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act Today!

In the last session of Congress, the leadership of the House let an extremely important piece of legislation - the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) - expire for the first time ever. VAWA provides critical federal resources to combat sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

Thankfully, VAWA is getting another chance. The Senate just passed a comprehensive, bipartisan bill - but it still needs to pass in the House, where it faces stiff opposition.

Aside from ensuring survivors of violence get the essential help they need, this new bill extends and strengthens protections for LGBT individuals and Native Americans.
