NEW UPDATED PETITION
WEST PACK LIFESTYLE GOES BACK ON THEIR WORD
Earlier this year this petition was started to urge Petzone not to sell animals in their stores after some rabbits were seen at one of their branches. See original petition here:

After so many South Africans came together with an outpouring of disappointment Petzone (a subsidiary of the West Pack Lifestyle Group) posted this statement on their facebook page:

Petzone made it clear that the concerns of the public is taken very seriously and that: "All critters currently in our Petzone Bel Air branch will fostered by Petzone management and we will work closely with local animal shelters to rehome them." They also said they will have plans in allignment with reputable shelters, rescue centres and the hosting of in-store adoption drives were also mentioned.
BUT THEY LIED.
Thus it is extremely alarming to discover rows upon rows of new tanks and cages have been set up at Petzone's store in Alberton, where it was confirmed by an employee that they would be selling animals in store from May.
Petzone has not only decided to sell animals and exploit them, but blatantly lied to the public. They said what the public wanted to hear and 4 months later we see new plans to sell animals at their Alberton branch.
I am urging every person that signs my petition to add a comment regarding why this is such upsetting and dissapointing news.
Please we urge you Petzone, once again, to re-evaluate your decision and choose not to sell live animals in your stores. If not, you will no doubt lose the support of all animal lovers.

(Where they promised not to sell animals).
So that I could not share the petition to the the people who previously commented positively. The public deserves to know the truth and Petzone is trying VERY hard to hide it! 😠

Critter Rescue SA Is it true that the critters (from the Bellairs branch) were relocated to a farm?
I was informed by Ban Animal Trading and Critter Rescue they were sent to a BREEDER :(
So they were not rehomed as was promised and will be kept by someone else to exploit them further. They are equivocating! They keep bending the truth! I also asked what about all the new tanks at their Alberton branch and got NO reply for 4 days!

PETZONE replied to a comment I left on their statement (5 February).
“Hi...as previously communicated, earlier this year we took the decision to no longer sell critters in our stores with the exception of the remaining critters at the Bel Air store. At the beginning of June, the remaining critters at the Bel Air store were relocated to a farm in the East Rand. We assure our customers that as a store for pet lovers, the welfare of all animals is paramount in everything we do.” Waiting for a reply
