Tell Your Members of Congress: "Raise the Minimum Wage"

During his State of the Union address, President Obama proposed to lift millions of American workers out of poverty by raising the Federal Minimum Wage.

Now, California Rep. George Miller and Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin have introduced the "Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2013," which would raise pay to $10.10 an hour and link it to inflation going forward. As Miller says, "Even during a so-called 'golden age of corporate profits,' millions of working families are falling behind because their paychecks aren't keeping up. That's immoral and that's undermining our economy."

Currently, if a person works 40 hours every week, they will only make $15,000 a year, well below the poverty line. Doesn't every American deserve a chance to provide for their family?

Tell your members of Congress: No one who works full time should have to live in poverty. Please support the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2013.
