Tell Congress: It's Time to Take Hospitals Off the Chopping Block

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, hospitals are there for us in our time of need.

But drastic budget cuts could make it harder for hospitals to meet the needs of patients in their communities. These cuts – in the form of the sequester and possible cuts in debt ceiling negotiations – could create longer lines at the ER, force some trauma centers to close, and reduce access to cutting edge technology.

In 2011 alone, hospitals provided care to people in need at a cost of more than $41 billion, for which no payment was received. They have taken $95 billion in budget cuts already in the last four years. Enough is enough. We need to tell Congress to take hospitals off the chopping block.

On behalf of the 129 million people who will be treated in hospital ERs, and the 35 million people who will be admitted to hospitals this year, tell Congress: No more budget cuts for America’s hospitals.
