Even though the background check bill fell short of the supermajority it needed to pass in the U.S. Senate, right now in Wisconsin, we have a rare opportunity to lead.
State legislators have introduced a bill that would require background checks for ALL gun sales in Wisconsin – one of the most effective steps we can take to prevent gun violence and save lives.
Current law makes it ridiculously easy for criminals to evade a background check by going to a “private seller.” The latest poll shows that 89% of people in Wisconsin – including more than 80% of gun owners – want background checks on ALL gun sales.
There’s no reason for Wisconsin to wait for Washington to act. Join with people all across the state in demanding our lawmakers require criminal background checks for ALL gun sales in Wisconsin.
