Remove sex offenders that were teenagers engaging in consensual sex

To change sex offender laws in Michigan

I would like to see each sex offender that is convicted be sentenced according to the crime committed. Right now, Michigan law requires anyone convicted to abide by very stiff rules that are unfair and unjust. My example is a 17 year old boy and 16 year old girl who have consensual sex and then the boy is charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct. For the next 25 years of his life he pays for this crime by being on the sex registry, unable to complete school and become a productive member of society, is at risk for holding certain jobs, and is prevented from many other things. Murders can do their jail time and move in to your neighborhood but someone who had sex as a teenager will pay dearly for nearly the rest of their life. Please help to change this Michigan law.
