Racial Profiling? Not In My America

Racial profiling is now legal in Arizona.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed the harshest anti-immigrant law in the nation on April 23rd. It gives police sweeping powers to stop anyone whom they "reasonably suspect" to be in the U.S. illegally, and they can choose people based on their race or ethnicity.

President Obama himself called Arizona's draconian law a threat that will "undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe."

Some families in Arizona now fear leaving their homes, even though they are legal American citizens. We desperately need leadership at the federal level to head off irresponsible laws like Arizona's.

Call on Congress to overhaul an immigration system that is unfair and failing all of us.
Dear [legislator],

I am deeply troubled by what happened in Arizona.

This is not the America I know and love.

Help make sure other states don't follow Arizona's lead and reform our nation's broken system so that our laws are in line with our American values.
