Help LGBT Candidates Stand Up to Hate

Anti-gay extremists have long blocked progress on gay rights. Now they're even going after gay people who want to run for office.

Enough!

Since the early 1980s the Family Research Council (FRC) has worked hard to make sure lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans stay second-class citizens.

In the run-up to November elections, FRC is pulling out all the stops to keep pro-equality and openly LGBT candidates from winning at the ballot box.

On its blog, the Family Research Council called recent victories by openly LGBT candidates " ... the fruition of that community's methodical efforts to further homosexualize America."

Qualified, openly LGBT candidates are our best hope to set the record straight about LGBT people and families. But it's not a fair fight. They can't face down well-funded groups like the Family Research Council alone.

Fight back. Help openly LGBT candidates this election season who have what it takes to make a stand for equality, freedom and fairness.
TAKE THE PLEDGE: I PLEDGE to help qualified gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender candidates stand up to groups like Tony Perkins' Family Research Council. I know that LGBT candidates for office face huge challenges this election season. I'll do what I can in my local community to make sure equality and fairness win at the ballot box in November.
