Save Centennial Park!
Preserve Centennial Park. Do not let private developers build a condominimum that will obstruct the view and cast a shadow over a public playground.
Save Centennial Park!
The Fort Myers City council wants to sell some of the most valuable water front property the city owns to private developers. A condominium complex would span nearly the width of the park: 300 feet wide and 270 feet tall. Visitors to the park would no longer be able to view sunsets during the winter season. Furthermore, a shadow would be cast across the park, particularly the childrens playground, during the afternoon hours.
The size of the park will be greatly reduced and whats left will become more of an amenity for the condo owners than open space for citizens of Fort Myers.
Please remind the city council they are stewards of our park system and to vote no on this building project. The Fort Myers review board already determined that the project was simply bad policy.
