Stop dodgy prices!

We're all seen prices in stores that give us pause. Specials offering discounts of $0. Unit prices that don’t add up. Bulk buying options that don’t actually save you money.

It's time for the government to stand up for consumers and we stop dodgy pricing.

Stores use complicated pricing schemes to keep customers in the dark about the true value of the products for sale and how much people are actually paying for them. When consumers took a stand against these predatory pricing practices, they won, but the victory only applies in certain stores.

This scheme needs to be improved and expanded to cover all places you see confusing pricing, like smaller supermarkets, discount chemists and even hardware stores. While consumers are left to sift through ambiguous prices that make home budgeting even harder, the Government is dragging its feet. We demand better.

Sign now to urge the Minister responsible for Consumer Affairs, Michael McCormack, to commission a review into unit pricing!
