Tell U.S. Forest Service Officials Not to Grant Montanore Minerals Corp. a License to Kill

The Cabinet-Yaak grizzly bear population in Northwest Montana, numbering at most 45 bears, is facing the real threat of extinction at the hands of the Montanore Minerals Corporation. Of all the appallingly destructive environmental impacts outlined in the Montanore Mine proposal, the dangers such a plan poses to the threatened grizzly bear population of the Kootenai National Forest and Cabinet Mountains Wilderness are the most insidious.
According to MMC's plan, the mine operation would significantly degrade over 18,000 acres of threatened grizzly habitat, much of it currently under federal protection as Bear Management Units designed to prevent further demise of this fragile population.
The grizzly as a species has already lost 99 percent of its habitat in the contiguous United States. Only about 1,000 grizzlies total remain in the lower 48 states.  Tell KNF Supervisor Paul Bradford and the USFS that it is time to take a stand and refuse to grant Montanore Minerals Corportation a license to kill.  Please sign today!
