While a number of countries in the Middle East criminalize the LGBTQ+ community, Israel has been a champion of key progressive values like LGBTQ+ rights for decades.
Recently, Israel flew the Pride flag above their Foreign Ministry. This symbolic move comes after the formation of a historically diverse governing coalition within Israel. The coalition, which brings together eight different political parties, includes a record nine women in key positions. These women represent a broad set of backgrounds from serving in the second-highest post of the Israeli military, to championing LGBTQ+, women's, and worker's rights.
Israel remains the ONLY country in the Middle East that is safe for the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, Israel is the only country in the Middle East to have promoted members of the LGBTQ+ community to the highest offices in the country.
