Many dogs are roaming the streets of Bali, infected with the Rabies disease, because no one is educated on the importance of a rabies vaccine. Rabies has become a dangerous situation with a recent outbreak of the disease. Many other areas across the world have the same problem but resort to vaccinating dogs to insure they are safe to themselves and others. Bali, on the other hand, opted for dog cull; killing the animals!
Rabies can be a terrifying situation with the known possible side effects; dogs become crazed with excessive salivation. Instead of trying to prevent the disease in Bali through a vaccination program, they choose to just shoot the animals to avoid the spread of this deadly virus.
Enough education is presented in this day and age regarding the rabies vaccination and its benefits. Every government in the world has been presented with scientific evidence that prevention is the best medicine, not a mass dog cull and killing of animals already affected. They are affected due to a lack of preventative measures.
Our efforts in this petition is to encourage the Bali Government to implement a country-wide program that includes a required rabies vaccination for any and all dogs. You can help us in our efforts by signing and sharing this petition. Culling the poor animals is not the answer!
Bali Government, President Joko Widodo – We strongly urge you to stop the dog culling; killing of these animals just because they have contracted the rabies virus. We beg you to implement a mandatory rabies vaccination program for any and all dogs that will prevent the virus or disease before they are infected. Please do not kill the animals as a way out but ensure the animals are all protected with the rabies vaccination.
